what is ProjectQ?

ProjectQ is more than an organization, it's a sanctuary for LGBTQIA+ youth seeking support and acceptance. At its core, ProjectQ stands for inclusivity, offering free mentorship classes, workshops, and gender-affirming haircuts. The organization specifically tailors its services to ex-foster youth and Black LGBTQIA+ individuals facing homelessness or housing insecurity. Their mission revolves around  creating a safe and nurturing environment while fostering cycles of success within the LGBTQIA+ community.

The impact of ProjectQ's work is evident in the transformation and resilience of the young individuals they serve.

“We are deeply committed to helping them break free from cycles of adversity and create brighter futures,” says Madin Ray Lopez, Executive Director of ProjectQ. By providing essential services such as therapy, food, internships, and gender-affirming hair services, ProjectQ empowers these individuals to regain confidence, develop life skills, and find a sense of belonging within their community.

ProjectQ invites everyone to experience confidence through their diverse range of services at their queer, POC-owned-and-operated hair salon in Los Angeles. Offering haircuts, color, and chemical treatments, their highly skilled stylists specialize in transforming curly/coily hair, QPOC/POC hair, short hair, extreme color, and providing gender-affirming haircuts. You can book a service here.
