What is Black Voters Matter?

Black Voters Matter's co-founders, Cliff Albright and LaTosha Brown, recognized the importance of organizing on the ground, especially in the context of local elections. They saw the power of mobilizing Black people in rural areas and underserved communities, and thus, Black Voters Matter was born.

IMAGE OF BLACK VOTERS MATTERS’ BUS

Recognizing the power of direct engagement, the iconic buses—dubbed “The Blackest Buses In America” by Black Voters Matter serve as vehicles of connection and voter engagement that bring a sense of love and power to marginalized communities. This non-profit even incorporates Black culture and joy into their work with their Parties To The Polls. They bring music, t-shirts, and an infectious spirit to rural communities—encouraging voter participation with fun energy and musical guests like KeKe Palmer, Waka Flocka, Common, and more!

how K18 supports Black Voters Matter

Amid ongoing concerns about voter suppression, marked by numerous laws and tactics targeting minority voters, our commitment to supporting Black Voters Matter continues through our Future Now initiative. We are dedicated to helping uplift Black and Brown communities by providing ongoing aid in the fight for voting rights, healthcare accessibility, environmental justice, reproductive justice, community safety, and more. This assistance supports Black Voters Matter in their mission to provide vital education, resources, and equitable access to the voting process.
